Charity hopes to raise £10,000 with fashion show

A charity which provides support to Jewish people with mental health problems is hoping to raise £10,000 by holding a charity fashion show.
The Jewish Association for Mental Illness (JAMI) is organising a light lunch and fashion show at Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue, from 11am until 2pm on May 2.
A mixture of professional and amateur models will show off Temple Fortune-based Averyl’s, summer collection.
Katie Taylor, JAMI events and fundraising officer, said: “I am organising this event because we are trying to attract a younger audience to educate them on mental health issues in the community and not to be afraid to talk about it.”
JAMI, which was set up in 1989, supports people as they recover from mental illness.
Its services, which cost £800,000 a year to run, include social workers, occupational therapists and a day centre.
The money raised from this event will go towards a Sunday social club, an Independent Living Skills Course, peer support groups, yoga, poetry and art classes and festive meals.
Tickets are available with a suggested donation of £50, this includes lunch.
